Symbols of Our Heritage: A Cultural Journey of South Florida
An Aya Arts community engagement project installed in Sailboat Bend II Adult Housing Community, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Fort Lauderdale ceramic artist, Cheryl Brown, led area community members in a virtual workshop where they shared their cultural identities through storytelling and artistic engagement. These stories were the inspiration for a ceramic quilt celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of South Florida.
